Donor Relations

With the guidance of Executive Director Katy Galli-Kreps, we play a foundational role in donor cultivation and engagement at UC Berkeley by providing meaningful stewardship to donors across all levels and areas of giving. We express gratitude to donors, create feelings of pride and belonging throughout the UC Berkeley community, and inspire sustained generosity into the future. We support UC Berkeley advancement colleagues in their work to cultivate and engage donors through coordinated stewardship activity and by offering centrally-developed tools, consulting, and campuswide groups.

What We Do

  • Manage annual, loyal, and lifelong giving recognition programs through the Charter Hill Society, Berkeley Loyal, Benefactors of Berkeley, and Builders of Berkeley.
  • Create stewardship reports for donors to campus programs and capital projects, as well as customized stewardship for UC Berkeley’s top donors.
  • Acknowledge major gifts to the university through the Chancellor’s and Vice Chancellor’s Acknowledgment programs, and foster connections with top donors through birthday and holiday greetings.
  • Support campus units by providing widespread, baseline acknowledgments at the annual gift level through the Acknowledgment Service Program.
  • Manage the process for philanthropic namings of physical spaces at UC Berkeley.
  • Manage annual endowment stewardship reporting, including financial reports and narrative reporting on scholarships, fellowships, chairs, and professorships.

Endowment Financial Report

The annual Endowment Financial Report (EFR) contains personalized financial reports summarizing fiscal year activity for individual endowment funds, in addition to general information on the impact and performance of Berkeley’s overall endowment during the past fiscal year.
