Vice Chancellor's Office

The vice chancellor for University Development and Alumni Relations works to increase support for and enhance knowledge of the university through public outreach and fundraising.

In addition to overseeing the university’s central development offices, the vice chancellor works with academic units, athletics departments, and arts organizations across campus to facilitate a collaborative approach to building support for the university.

What We Do

The vice chancellor’s office works to secure:

  • Private support from individuals, corporations, and foundations by building long-term relationships, which are nurtured by careful cultivation and principled stewardship
  • Public support by enhancing the positive image and institutional presence of the university through various media, through the building of relationships, and by communicating messages of the campus leadership

The vice chancellor also serves as president of the UC Berkeley Foundation (UCBF), a not-for-profit corporation that raises, invests, and administers donations to the campus.
