UDAR Community Groups

Asian/Asian-American (AM) Space

Our monthly gathering is for staff who identify as Asian or Asian-American to meet with others, build communityand have a safe space to discuss experiences. We meet every second Friday of each month from noon to 12:45 p.m. via Zoom.

Parents of Young Children

We intend to have an open, engaging, and hopefully entertaining space where we can come together to talk about the joys and challenges of simultaneously working and parenting little ones. Anyone with children under the age of five (pre-kindergarten), and we welcome expecting parents! We hold monthly meetings via Zoom, with a possible second meeting in person in Golden Bear or for coffee/tea somewhere in Berkeley.

The Green Team

The Green Team is an initiative in partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Energy to foster a more sustainable department. Using the framework for Green Department Certification, the team works on addressing sustainability within areas such as energy, waste, purchasing, and consumer behavior.

Community of Practice & Affinity Group for Frontline Fundraisers of Color

We formed the Community of Practice and Affinity Group for Frontline Fundraisers of Color to create an open, intentional, and supportive space for any member of the Berkeley Advancement Community who identifies as a person of color and who is currently doing frontline outreach work to manage and engage a portfolio of donors and/or prospects. POC frontline fundraisers of all experience levels and soliciting gifts of any amount are welcome, as long as you are interested in growing your peer network, advancing your skill sets, and/or building community. JUDAR – Jewish Affinity Group

Our monthly meeting is open to anyone with any connection to Judaism. We can connect with each other, learn about Jewish culture and traditions, discuss current events, and otherwise, celebrate and discover the rich diversity of Jewish history, faith and people.

Crafty @ Cal

We welcome all crafty colleagues. Please join us (virtually) for a brown bag lunch and bring your knitting, crochet, coloring or any other craft project. Early-Career Professionals

A space where professionals early in their careers can connect and share wisdom as we navigate higher education development. This group is open to anyone interested in growing their peer network and finding community and may include recent graduates, those new to higher education, or those who feel they’re still navigating the start of their careers. The group will meet once a month via zoom with occasional in-person meet-ups. Join us!
