The Marketing Communications group is a full-service strategic marketing team, providing promotional, editorial, design, web, e-communications, social media, and constituent and donor relations services to support the entire spectrum of the fundraising enterprise at Berkeley. We offer direct services as well as consultation.
What We Do
Showcase the excellence and impacts of the University and connect our audiences to Berkeley in ways that inspire pride and philanthropic action. We create, support, and grow a variety of print and digital publications, including The Promise of Berkeley magazine (90,000+ recipients), the Berkeley Online e-newsletter (300,000+ recipients), and Cal Facts. We provide marketing communications leadership and expertise to such initiatives and events as the Big Give and Parents & Reunion Weekend at Homecoming.
Promote campus fundraising priorities. We accomplish this across platforms in a variety of ways, including the campuswide give.berkeley.edu online giving site, case statements, proposals, and white papers.
Demonstrate the role and importance of philanthropic support to the University. We communicate this to our audiences through engaging materials, presentations, publications, websites, and social media.
Recognize and thank donors and report on the impact of their philanthropy. We write, edit, design, and produce such vehicles as the Annual Report of Philanthropy and provide editorial, design, and production support to direct mail efforts.
Provide fundraisers and volunteer leaders with tools for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This includes consultation on a broad range of marketing communications strategies and delivering such items as fact sheets, toolkits, speeches, and talking points.
